C4C262 - Sketch Card for the Holidays

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.  This week Frances has a sketch for us!

I generally take 'artistic license' with sketches, but I did fairly good with this one. I used a vertical card rather than a horizontal, because as soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use the Spiral Circle Pull Card die.

I bought this paper stack last year, and have used a couple of sheets this week to make some Christmas cards. Which means, they all look similar - but that's OK.  They are all going to different people.

I know I've said it before, but I really like this style of card - the Z Fold card where the front shape flips when the card is opened. Karen Burniston designed her die with these clever little notches that hold the card in the closed position until the recipient pulls the card open. LOVE those notches.

Here is a peek at the inside, with the verse on the other side of the snowflake.  The white circle is where we will add our signature.

I added three die cut snowflakes in place of the circles on the sketch ...

... and hand-trimmed banners in place of the rectangles. Each of the candies on the printed paper have a dot of glitter glue in the centre.

I really like these chipboard glittered snowflakes ... they are actually stickers, but I never find this brand sticks that well. So I peeled off the sticker backing and added glue to be sure the snowflake stays in place.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by this sketch.  We'd sure love to see your take on the sketch, so be sure to stop by the Crazy4Challenges blog and add the link to your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C262.

On a side note, our Granddaughter Olivia had a day of Dr & Specialist appointments Thursday as well as a series of tests. She is not only holding her own, she is showing signs of improvement! That means they have gotten ahead of the disease - something the Doctors have been struggling to do since her diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypterension. The dogs and I went to their house to babysit our Grandsons, so our daughter and hubby could concentrate on Olivia and what the Doctors were saying.  We had a lot of fun but I was sure tired and sore the yesterday.  Ethan (age 2) wanted me to take a picture with him ... this is his new 'camera face'.  Say CHEESE!

  1. Wonderful card Karen, I like how you used the edge from the Ring Accordion around the circle on the front of your card. And what a cutie of a Grandson!
